We set up the 5S1500LCD under our NAS rack, replacing a basic power strip. Eaton does not sell its Ellipse PRO line in the US, so the 5S series is what American buyers actually find on Amazon, and it holds its own: the LCD screen shows load and remaining runtime in real time instead of leaving you guessing. During a deliberate outage test (breaker switched off under load), the switch to battery was effectively instant, well under the roughly 4ms Eaton advertises, without so much as a blink on the NAS side. The USB monitoring software correctly triggered a clean NAS shutdown a few minutes into the outage, exactly as intended. The fan is noticeably quieter than what we have measured on some rival brands in this class, a real plus for a home office. One honest downside: at full 900W load, runtime drops to about 2 minutes, so this unit is built for a clean shutdown window, not for riding out a long outage. Overall, a fast-switching, quiet, no-nonsense UPS, well suited to a NAS or router tucked under a desk or in a closet.
