The Power Queen 100Ah holds up very well against pricier batteries. Fitted in a motorhome in place of an old lead-acid battery, the difference in runtime is obvious: you actually use nearly all of the 1280 Wh, whereas lead does not tolerate deep discharges. The weight saving is welcome, and the built-in BMS is reassuring day to day against overcharge and short circuits. The low-temperature protection is a real plus to avoid damaging the cells in winter. We use it both to power a fridge, lighting and a pump in a van, and to store the output of a small solar kit. Two honest caveats: the 100A BMS limits discharge current, which is enough for most uses but may restrict a very powerful inverter, and like any LiFePO4, charging below 32 °F (0 °C) is not advised (hence the protection). To replace lead with reliable lithium without breaking the bank, it is excellent value.

We swapped this LiTime 12V 50Ah in for an old lead-acid battery on a small trolling motor setup, and the difference shows immediately: half the weight, and you can genuinely run the 640Wh down without worrying about damaging it, unlike lead-acid. The Bluetooth is well done, pairing via the QR code on the case is instant, and the app clearly shows voltage, current, and charge level, handy for keeping tabs on the battery without pulling out a multimeter. The automatic cold-weather cutoff gave peace of mind on a late-fall outing, though like any LiFePO4 battery, it is best to avoid charging it below freezing. Our one real gripe: the M8 bolt terminals need the right lugs, worth planning for before you install it. For a boat, an RV, or a small solar kit, it clearly beats a lead-acid battery of the same size.

We fitted this Dyness 24V 100Ah in place of two ageing 12V batteries wired in series inside a solar kit on a converted van, and the space saved is obvious straight away: one single block, two terminals, half the wiring. Mounted on a 24V trolling motor, it holds up through a full day on the water without flinching, even in cool weather. The 100A BMS copes well with the current draw at motor start-up, and the low-temperature protection is reassuring for outdoor winter storage. The one real downside: this base model has no Bluetooth, unlike the BT version in the range, so there is no way to track the state of charge from a phone, something a few buyers only notice after skimming the listing. Dyness support was responsive when another buyer ran into a delivery issue, which says something good about the brand. For the price, well under its direct rivals at the same capacity, it is a safe bet for anyone who does not need remote monitoring.

The Bluetooth app is genuinely handy day to day for checking the charge level without opening the battery locker, though its range is limited to a few meters, so you need to stay fairly close for a reliable connection. The 200A BMS is reassuring when running a beefy inverter, and the IP65 rating held up well over an extended stint on a boat, with no trace of moisture inside the battery box. At 48.5 lb (22 kg) it stays manageable between two people, a world away from an equivalent lead-acid unit. The one real downside: like any LiFePO4 battery without self-heating, charging is best avoided in very cold weather, worth planning around for winter use in the mountains. For the price, it is a safe bet for switching over to lithium.

The Fogstar Drift app pairs instantly over Bluetooth and shows clear data on state of charge and cell health. Just like its larger sibling, the automatic heating delivered on its promise during an improvised winter test, accepting charge without a hitch despite a temperature close to 32 °F (0 °C). The main downside for US buyers is availability: Fogstar is a UK-based brand and, at the time of writing, we could not confirm a US retailer for this model, and its price stays firmly premium against generic rivals. The automatic heating did its job during an early-morning test at 39 °F (4 °C), accepting charge without tripping a safety cut-out. A couple of honest downsides: the four-figure price tag is one for a serious storage project, and as with the rest of the range, shipping comes from the UK with no US warehouse or distributor. It lives instead with specialty solar and marine dealers, and we tracked it down at NAZ Solar Electric for $242.25, genuinely in stock and ready to ship, no minimum order quantity to wrestle with, unlike a couple of other Victron dealers we checked that only sell it in lots of six. Once it's in hand, the case for it is the same one that has made Victron a benchmark name for years: fully sealed gel construction with no maintenance, no venting fumes, and a rated design life up to 12 years even through repeated deep discharges, the kind of reliability that lets you install it in a poorly ventilated space without a second thought. The honest tradeoff is convenience and price: sourcing it takes a bit more legwork than a one-click Amazon order, and at over $2.50 per amp-hour, you're paying for Victron's name and longevity rather than getting the cheapest gel battery on the market.
