Powerextra Roomba 500-900 Series Replacement Battery

This Powerextra battery is a direct replacement for the original NiMH pack fitted to iRobot's classic Roomba lineup, covering the 500, 600, 700, 800, and 900 series. That spans a wide range of specific models, including the 510, 550, 620, 650, 675, 690, 760, 770, 780, 860, 870, 890, 960, and 980, among others, all of which share the same battery bay and connector.

Rated capacity is 5.0 Ah (5000 mAh) at a nominal 14.4V, in line with the original battery these Roomba generations shipped with. As NiMH cells age past a few hundred charge cycles, capacity fades and the robot starts returning to its dock well before a room is finished, which is the most common reason an otherwise healthy Roomba starts underperforming.

Installation does not require any tools: the battery sits in a bay accessed from underneath the robot, held by a simple latch or cover depending on the exact model, the same location as the original pack. After swapping in the new battery, running the Roomba through one or two full charge and discharge cycles helps it recalibrate its internal runtime estimate, since the robot's charge indicator initially reflects the assumptions carried over from the old, degraded pack.

This battery is a compatible aftermarket replacement, not an original iRobot part, built to the same voltage and connector as the factory battery for the covered Roomba generations.
