For under 15 pounds, the Redmi 20000mAh is one of those accessories you buy without a second thought. I have hauled it on weekends, at festivals and in my travel bag: it recharges my phone three to four times, enough to forget the charger for two days. The two USB-A outputs are handy for helping out a friend while charging your own device. The 18 W fast charge does the job on a smartphone, even if you can tell it is not the latest 65 W standard. The minor gripes: it is a bit heavy (434 g) and thick, and the USB-C is input only, not an output, which feels a little dated today. Nothing dealbreaking given the price. For a reliable, affordable energy reserve, it is a safe bet I recommend without hesitation.

I use this Xiaomi 90W HyperCharge as the single charger on my desk, and it alone replaced two bulkier bricks. On its main USB-C port it charges my laptop at full speed, and when I add the phone and watch, the power splits intelligently without anything heating up abnormally. The body is genuinely compact for 90 W, which makes it perfect to drop into a bag for a trip. PD with PPS support is a real plus for charging recent smartphones efficiently. Two honest caveats: the USB-C cable is not supplied, and you need Xiaomi's official 6 A cable to reach 90 W on a single port, otherwise it caps lower. Nothing blocking, but good to know. To centralise the charging of all your devices without multiplying sockets, it is an excellent choice.

The Xiaomi 10000 Lite is pretty much the perfect backup battery for a bag: slim, light (under 200 g) and sold at a ridiculously low price. I adopted it for days in town when I just want to be sure I finish the evening with some charge. It recharges my phone a bit under twice, which fits its 10000 mAh, and the 22.5 W fast charge really makes a difference versus old slow batteries. The three ports are handy when travelling with someone. The USB-C port also recharges it, in about 4.5 hours. Of course, at this price there is no precise display or wireless charging, and the power is meant for phones, not laptops. But to top up day to day without spending much, it is hard to do better.

The Xiaomi 33W Magnetic is my favourite battery for the city, because it removes the forgotten-cable problem. It sticks to the back of my phone (the 13 N magnet really holds, without slipping) and it carries its own USB-C cable, which means you can plug it in even when you have nothing else at hand. Over cable, the 33 W recharge the phone at a good pace, and the second USB-C port lets you top up earbuds or a watch alongside. The 7.5 W wireless charging is handy for resting the phone on it, but let us be honest: it is slow, more of an occasional top-up than the main method. It barely heats up, reassuring when you carry it against the phone. Compact for what it offers, it is an excellent everyday companion.

The Xiaomi 212W HyperCharge is the battery I grab when I head out to work a full day with no guarantee of finding a socket. The 140 W USB-C port charges my laptop as fast as its original charger, which is stunning for a battery, and there is still room to power the phone and earbuds on the other ports. With 25000 mAh, I easily cover a full day of mobile work. I also like that it refuels quickly (up to 100 W), so you do not leave it plugged in all night. A pleasant surprise: despite its large capacity, it stays under 100 Wh and travels in the cabin. The trade-offs are owned: it is heavy (about 628 g) and its thick block shape takes up room, clearly not a pocket battery. But as a serious energy reserve for a laptop, it is hard to fault.

The Xiaomi Ultra Slim 5000 pushes back against ever-bigger power banks: 113 x 53 mm, 10 mm thick and 93 g, barely more than a smartphone lying flat. Its single USB-C port is bidirectional and delivers up to 20W, enough to bring an iPhone back to half charge in about half an hour. Its 5000 mAh (19.4 Wh) are not aimed at a weekend off-grid but at a day's insurance: one full phone charge, without ever weighing down a pocket. The USB-C cable is included and it refills itself in 105 minutes at 18W.
You have to hold it to understand the point. At 10 mm and 93 g, the Ultra Slim slides into a shirt pocket, into a backpack sleeve, even into a slightly generous card holder, where a 10,000 mAh pack forces you to open the bag. It is an object you carry without thinking about it, and that is exactly the use it targets. The 20W USB-C port does the job on a phone: half an hour brings an iPhone back to roughly half charge, which comfortably covers the end of an evening or a journey. The port is bidirectional, so one cable both empties and refills it, and that cable is in the box, which is no longer a given. The limits are deliberate and worth knowing before buying. Its 5000 mAh give one phone charge, one, not two: this is not a travel battery, it is a safety net for the day. The single port rules out charging two devices at once, and with no display you rely on four indicator lights. Finally, 20W is modest next to the 45 or 65W of thicker models. But none of those models disappears into a pocket, and that is the whole point.
