Detailed overview: Allpowers SP001 21W USB portable solar panel
The Allpowers SP001 is an ultralight 21 W foldable solar panel, one of the lightest and most compact in its class at 1.3 lb (610g). It is aimed at those who want a small, genuinely portable solar energy source so they never run out of battery on a phone, tablet or power bank, far from any outlet.
It offers two USB outputs: a USB-A port and a USB-C port, both able to deliver up to 18W depending on the device plugged in. Unlike several other small panels on the market, this ceiling stays close to the panel's own rated output: the port electronics are almost never the limiting factor, actual charging speed depends on the solar output itself, which varies with sunlight and orientation.
Its monocrystalline cells are rated at 22 to 25% efficiency. Folding into three panels, it takes on a very compact folded format (8.7 x 8.2 x 0.8 in / 220 x 208 x 20mm) that slips into a bag, a glovebox or a backpack, and unfolds in an instant.
The panel's fabric is rated IP67, but the connector housing that groups the two USB ports is not built to be waterproof: it is best kept away from direct rain despite the fabric's own good weather resistance.
Keep in mind that a 21 W panel remains a top-up accessory, not a fast charger: output depends heavily on orientation and sunlight. Light, discreet and practical, the Allpowers SP001 21W is a clever companion to keep your small devices charged on the go.

Estimate in full sun (ideal conditions). In practice, count on 3 to 5 hours of truly useful sunlight per day, so a full recharge may span several days depending on weather and orientation.
Our tester's review: Julien De Jurquet
The SP001 is a clever little solar charger, light and foldable, worth keeping in a bag so you never run out of battery on a phone or tablet out in nature. Its two USB ports (USB-A and USB-C) reach up to 18W each, a ceiling close to the panel's own rated output: unlike several other small panels on the market, the ports themselves are almost never the bottleneck, the amount of sunlight available is. We like its featherweight (1.3 lb / 610g) and its ultra-compact folded format. The limits are obvious and accepted: at 21W, real-world output stays modest and depends heavily on orientation, the connector housing is not built to be waterproof despite the fabric's IP67 rating, and the warranty covers only one year. To top up a phone or tablet while hiking or traveling, at this price, it is a genuinely handy accessory.

It charges a phone, tablet or power bank directly in the sun via its two USB ports (USB-A and USB-C, up to 18W each). It is a nomad top-up accessory, not a fast charger or a vehicle battery maintainer.
Yes, thanks to its USB-A and USB-C ports, it directly charges a phone, tablet or power bank in the sun. Charging speed depends heavily on sunlight and orientation, but it is very handy for portable top-ups.
Yes, it folds into a very compact (8.7 x 8.2 x 0.8 in) and ultralight (1.3 lb / 610g) format that slips into a glovebox, a bag or a backpack. It unfolds in an instant.
No. This SP001 model is a panel only, with no built-in battery. Allpowers separately sells an SP002 with a 10,000mAh battery: the two look similar and are sometimes mixed up in online listings, but they are two distinct products.
